Update student progress - Flight Logger API
Updating student progress via the Flight Logger API allows you to:
- Records events flown out of order
- Record repeat syllabus flights as 'R'
- Record custom lesson that don't have a syllabus ID as 'C'
Recording 'R' and 'C' creates a more accurate picture of the students timeline, you will be able to easily see that a student has been flying, though not on syllabus events.
For the update to work the Student ID and Lesson ID for each event in the two systems need to align:
- Student ID in Aeroplanned = Student callsign in Flight Logger
- The Lesson ID in Aeroplanned for each event needs to match the Lesson ID in Flight Logger for the exact same event. If you create a new version of a syllabi in Flight Logger you need to replicate this in Aeroplanned. You can find the syllabus ID in Flight Logger by downloading the relevant syllabi - the Lesson ID column is the last column on the right.
Update from API:
- Select the student you want to update
- Click on 'Update Progress'
- Click on 'Get latest flight from API'
Aeroplanned is now looking through all of the flights that are in Flight Logger so don't be alarmed if the 'Flight retrieved' count is getting really high. Once Aeroplanned has captured the flights you will see a summary:
- Select 'skip backup' if required and click ' Update student progress' to complete the update
All the students with the correct IDs and on the same syllabus as in Flight Logger will now have been updated.
